About Printer Help

Printer Model - The printer model configuration information displays in this field. The Phaser 7400 printer supports the following configurations:

Phaser 7400N - The 7400N networking configuration contains 256 MB memory standard. 550-sheet and 1650-sheet high-capacity feeders, additional memory, the hard drive, and the finisher are optional. The Phaser 7400N configuration does not support 2-sided printing (duplex).
Phaser 7400DN - The 7400DN configuration contains 256 MB memory and supports 2-sided printing (duplex) standard. 550-sheet and 1650-sheet high-capacity feeders, additional memory, the hard drive, and the finisher are optional.
Phaser 7400DT - The 7400DT configuration contains 512 MB memory, a 550-sheet feeder, the hard drive, and supports 2-sided printing (duplex) standard. An additional 550-sheet feeder, more memory, and the finisher are optional.
Phaser 7400DX - The 7400DX configuration contains 512 MB memory, a 1650-sheet high-capacity feeder, the hard drive, and supports 2-sided printing (duplex) standard. A 550-sheet feeder, more memory, and the finisher are optional.
Phaser 7400DXF - The 7400DXF configuration contains 512 MB memory, the hard drive, the finisher, 550-sheet and 1650-sheet high-capacity feeders, and supports 2-sided printing (duplex) standard.

Note: The optional finisher can only be added to a Phaser 7400 printer which also has the optional 550-sheet and 1650-sheet high-capacity feeders and the hard drive installed.

Each printer configuration contains a replaceable Configuration Card that holds printer configuration information, and in combination with RAM and a hard drive, enables or disables certain built-in printer features, such as networking and 2-sided printing (duplex).

Printer Serial Number - The printer's unique number that can be found on the Configuration Page. To print the Configuration Page in CentreWare IS, click the Print tab, select Print Configuration Page from the navigation tree, and then click the print button on the page.

Machine Address - The printer's factory-assigned hardware Ethernet (MAC) address.

Operating System - Version information for the software installed on your printer.

PostScript - The Xerox version number of the PostScript software installed on your printer.

Networking - Version information for the networking software installed on your printer.

Engine - Version information for the engine software installed on your printer.

Adobe PostScript Version - Version information for the Adobe PostScript software installed on your printer.

Memory

RAM Size - The base configuration of the controller contains RAM memory. The maximum RAM is 1 gigabyte (GB). RAM added beyond this limit is ignored.

Slot 1, Slot 2 - There are 2 SODIMM slots each supporting 256 to 512 MB of RAM for all Phaser 7400 printer configurations. Any slot may be used for RAM, which must comply with the 64-bit unbuffered PC-100 standard.

Note: The maximum RAM memory is 1 GB for any of the printer configurations. RAM added beyond this limit is ignored.

Options Installed

Hard Drive Installed - If the printer has a hard drive installed, this field displays Yes.
Hard Drive Size - If the printer has a hard drive installed, this field displays the hard drive size in GB.
Tray 3 - If the optional 550-sheet feeder is installed, this field displays Yes.
Tray 4 - If the optional 1650-sheet high-capacity feeder is installed, this field displays Yes.
Tray 5 - If the optional 1650-sheet high-capacity feeder is installed, this field displays Yes.
Tray 6 - If the optional 1650-sheet high-capacity feeder is installed, this field displays Yes.
Duplex Unit - If the duplex unit is enabled, this field displays Yes.
Finisher - If the optional finisher is installed, these fields display Yes for each finisher option that is included. The finisher provides jogging, stapling, 2/3 or 4-hole punching, and an output tray.
