Administration

1. From the Devices and Printers window, right-click the printer, then select Xerox Printer Properties.
2. Select the Administration tab.
3. To select your device model, click the Device Model option. From the list, select your device model.
4. When printing sensitive or confidential information, use the Secure Print Only feature. After the job is sent to the printer, the job is held at the printer until a passcode is entered to release the job. Click Secure Print Only, then select an option.
   • Enabled: This option sends all jobs as Secure Print jobs. All users are required to enter a passcode to release their jobs for printing.
   • Disabled: This option disables Secure Print Only printing.
5. The Secure Print via Login feature sets user credentials or a Secure Print passcode for the Secure Print feature. Click Secure Print via Login Name, then select an option.

   Use Secure Print to print sensitive or confidential information. After you send the job, it is held at the printer until you enter your passcode at the printer control panel.

   • Enabled: This option sends user credentials from the operating system or from a smart card to the printer for Secure Print jobs.
   • Disabled: This option sends the Secure Print passcode with the print job.
6. The Black and White Only feature prints all jobs as black and white. Click Black and White Only, then select an option.
   • Enabled: This option prints all jobs in black and white.
   • Disabled: This option disables Black and White Only printing.
7. To choose options for encrypting documents before printing, click Document Encryption, then select an option.
   • Disabled: This option disables encryption for all documents that a user sends to the printer.
   • Encrypt All Documents: This option encrypts all documents that a user sends to the printer.
   • Manually Encrypt Documents: This option allows a user to encrypt specific jobs sent to the printer. To encrypt a job when printing, click the Advanced button, then click the Document tab. For Document Encryption, select On.
8. To specify a personal identification number (PIN) for printing jobs, click Windows PIN-Protected Printing.
   • Enabled: This option allows a user to select Windows PIN-protected printing from the print window. To release the print job, from the printer control panel, enter the Windows PIN-protected printing passcode.
   • Disabled: This option removes the Windows PIN-protected printing feature from the print window. To password-protect a print job, from the print driver, use the Secure Print feature.
9. To retrieve personal login information for a print job, click Access and Verification (CAC/PIV), then select an option.
   • Enabled: This option retrieves user credentials from a Smart Card Reader. Install a Smart Card Reader on both the printer and your computer.
   • Disabled: This option retrieves user credentials from the operating system.
10. Click OK.
