Advanced Fax Settings

1. Click Fax Settings, then click the Advanced icon.
2. To select settings for sending a fax, click the Send Options tab, then select the options required.
   • Fax Paper Size

     Use Fax Paper Size to set the paper size to use for the fax job. From the Fax Paper Size list, select a paper size as needed.

   • Confirmation Sheet

     Use Confirmation Sheet to choose if a confirmation sheet is required. Select an option:

     • Disabled: This option instructs the printer not to print a confirmation sheet.
     • Send to Printer: This option sends the confirmation sheet to the printer.
     • Send to Email: This option instructs the printer to send the confirmation sheet to an email address. Type email addresses or, to select email addresses from your phonebook, click Add From Phonebook.
   • Send Speed

     Use Send Speed to select the appropriate fax transmission rate in kilobits per second (kbps) or bits per second (bps). If you live in an area where the phone lines are inadequate for high-speed fax or data transmission, select a lower transmission rate. A lower transmission rate reduces the chance of transmission errors.

   • Fax Resolution

     Fax Resolution affects the amount of detail that is reproduced during the fax transmission. Higher resolution fax transmissions consume more memory and take longer to send. Select a fax resolution from the list.

   • Delay Send

     You can set a time in the future for the printer to send your fax job. You can delay the send of your fax job for up to 24 hours.

     • Send Now: This option sends the fax immediately.
     • Send At: Enter a time to send the fax. You can delay the send for up to 24 hours.
   • Dialing Prefix

     To dial an outside line, select Dialing Prefix. Type the dialing prefix in the field.

   • Credit Card
     To charge for faxes using a credit card, debit card, calling card, and so on, select Credit Card. Type the card number in the field.
3. To set Phonebook options, click the Preferences tab.
   • To edit the Personal Phonebook, click the Editing the Fax Phonebook button.
   • To view LDAP information, click the LDAP Phonebook button.
   • To select a default phonebook, select an option.
4. Click OK.
