Device Status

You can view device status and job status information, and check the print settings selected for a job from the Device Status area. You can set up job notifications to appear when your print job has completed.

The Device Status pane shows your printer configuration with input and output trays.

Click Print Settings > Printing Options.
To view device status information, click Device Status.
The Device Status area provides information about the ink or toner levels and paper levels. When there is a problem, the Device Status area includes information about how to fix the problem. For example, when a paper tray is out of paper, the Device Status area displays the tray number that needs paper.
- To view the percent of ink, toner, or paper remaining, move your mouse pointer over the icons.
- For a detailed view of the current messages, click the Show Details arrow.
- To set job notifications for print jobs, click the Job Notification icon, then select options.
To view a summary of the features that are selected for the print job, click Job Summary.
All print options selected for the print job appear.
To view the status of active and completed print jobs, click Job Queue.
Use the Job Queue option for these tasks:
- View details about the job, such as the job name, job owner, job status, number of copies being printed, and the submission time.
- Manage active jobs such as Secure Print or Proof Print jobs.
- Manage jobs that are held for resources or waiting to print.
- Manage fax jobs.
- Delete a job waiting to print.
To view a list of the permissions required for the printing jobs, click Permissions.
To reduce the use of materials and energy during printing, print using the Earth Smart settings.
