Use this page to enable Web Services on the printer. Web Services on Devices (WSD) is technology from Microsoft that provides a standard method for discovering and using network connected devices in Windows Vista environments.

When you are satisfied with your selections, click Save Changes to keep the settings or Discard Changes to keep the previous settings.

All WSD Services - Select this check box to enable All WSD Services on the printer. This check box is selected by default. Clear (uncheck) this check box to make All WSD Services unavailable on the printer.

Note: Turning off All WSD Services may cause dependent host applications, such as Xerox^® printer drivers, to not function properly.

WSD Device Discovery - Select this check box to enable both WSD Device Discovery and Multicast Discovery on the printer. Discovery services advertise the existence of a device on the network. Clear (uncheck) this check box to make WSD Device Discovery and Multicast Discovery unavailable on the printer.

Multicast Discovery - Select this check box to enable Multicast Discovery on the printer. This setting enables the device to be discovered via the Multicast protocol. WSD Device Discovery must be enabled to make this check box available for selection. Clear (uncheck) this check box to make Multicast Discovery unavailable on the printer.

Xerox^® Resource Service - Select this check box to enable Xerox^® Resource Service on the printer. The printer driver uses Xerox^® Resource Service to acquire device specific information such as user based color printing permissions, user based job type printing permissions, etc. This check box is selected by default. Clear (uncheck) this check box to make Xerox^® Resource Service unavailable on the printer.

Note: Turning off Xerox^® Resource Service may cause Xerox^® printer drivers to not function properly.

WSD Print Service - Select this check box to enable WSD Print Service on the printer. This check box is selected by default. Clear (uncheck) this check box to make WSD Print Service unavailable on the printer.
