Date and
Time Help
This page enables you to manually set your printer's clock, or to enable the SNTP server to automatically set the clock.
When you are satisfied with your selections, click Save Changes to keep the settings or Discard Changes to keep the previous settings.
General - Automatically Setting Date and Time
Select the Automatically obtain date and time check box to enable the network time server (SNTP) to automatically set the printer's clock at startup and thereafter every subsequent 24 hours. The default setting is Off.
Network Time Servers
Select the Automatically obtain date and time check box, and then enter the SNTP Server addresses in the provided fields. If a SNTP Server is provided by DHCP, the server entered here will be overwritten. If a SNTP Server is not entered, and one is not provided by DHCP, then any time broadcast on the network will be used to set the clock.
SNTP IPv4 Server - Enter an IPv4 address for your IPv4 time server (SNTP) in this field.
SNTP IPv6 Server - Enter an IPv6 address for your IPv6 time server (SNTP) in this field.
Manually Setting Date and Time
Local Date and Time - The printer's current date and time setting displays here. To manually change the setting, clear (uncheck) the Automatically obtain date and time check box, enter the current date and time for your local time zone for New Date and New Time, and select the Offset from Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) for your location.
Offset of Local Time Zone (from GMT)
GMT is the time in Greenwich, England, which is the universal point of reference
for global time zones. The time reported in email messages is derived from
GMT
and an offset value. The offset represents the relationship of your local time
zone to GMT. Enter the offset to ensure that the correct time will be calculated for
the
printer's email messages when using features such as MaiLinX Alerts and Usage
Profile Reports. To find the GMT Offset for your location, see the following table of GMT Offset Values.
