Configure SNMP v3 Key User Edit Account Keys Help

Use this page to change the SNMP v3 Key User account name and authentication and privacy protocols and keys. After the Key User account settings are configured, click Save to save the settings, or click Cancel to keep the previous settings and return to the SNMP Configuration: Configure SNMP v3 page. Click Configure Using Passwords to edit the Key User account passwords.

Key User Account

User Name - Enter the Key User account User Name in this field. The User Name can be a maximum of 31 characters. The predefined keyuser user name is displayed by default. User names for the Administrative User, Key User, and Any User accounts must be unique.

Authentication Protocol - Select the Authentication Protocol from the drop-down list. Possible settings include: SHA1 or MD5. The default setting is SHA1.

Authentication Key - Enter the Authentication Key in this field. The Authentication Key length is dependent upon the Authentication Protocol selected. If the SHA1 protocol is selected, then the key length is 40 hexadecimal characters. If the MD5 protocol is selected, then the key length is 32 hexadecimal characters. Authentication Key is required.

Confirm Authentication Key - Retype the Authentication Key in this field. Confirm Authentication Key must match the Authentication Key previously entered.

Privacy Protocol - Select the Privacy Protocol from the drop-down list. Possible settings include: CBC-DES or CFB-AES-128. The default setting is CFB-AES-128.

Privacy Key - If you want to specify a Privacy Key, enter it in this field. The Privacy Key length is dependent upon the Authentication Protocol selected. If the SHA1 protocol is selected, then the key length is 40 hexadecimal characters. If the MD5 protocol is selected, then the key length is 32 hexadecimal characters.

Confirm Privacy Key - Retype the Privacy Key in this field. Confirm Privacy Key must match the Privacy Key previously entered.

MIB Access - Select a radio button to set the Key User account's MIB access permissions. MIB access for the Key User account can be set to Read/Write or Read.

Hide Typing - Select this check box to prevent keys from displaying on screen as they are being entered. Keys display as a row of asterisks instead of actual data when Hide Typing is selected. Hide Typing is selected by default.
