SNMP Configure Traps Add/Edit Destination Help

This page displays when the Edit or Add Destination buttons are clicked on the SNMP Configuration: Configure Traps page.

After the settings are configured, click Apply to save the settings, or click Cancel to keep the previous settings and return to the SNMP Configuration: Configure Traps page.

Destination Trap Address

IP Address - To add a Trap Destination IP Address, click the radio button, then enter the IP Address in the four fields.

DNS Name - To add a Trap Destination DNS Name, click the radio button, then enter the DNS Name in the field.

UDP Port Number - For a destination device over the User Datagram Protocol (UDP), enter the UDP port number.

SNMP Version - Select the SNMP Trap Version to be sent to the specified address. SNMP Versions include SNMP v1 Traps, SNMP v2c Traps, and SNMP v2c Inform Requests. SNMP v1 Traps are the default version setting when the Add Destination button is clicked on the SNMP Configuration: Configure Traps page. When the Edit button is clicked on the Configure Traps page, the default setting is the SNMP version previously saved.

Traps

Community Name - Enter the community name of the destination device.

Traps to be Received - Select the check boxes to select the different types of traps to be sent to the specified address. Traps to be Received include: Printer Traps, Job Monitoring Traps, Cold Start Traps, and Authentication Traps. Printer Traps is the default setting.

Note: At least one trap type must be selected.
