This page enables you to configure Email Server (SMTP) settings, specify a return email address for undelivered email, and enable SMTP authentication.

When you are satisfied with your selections, click Save Changes to keep the settings or Discard Changes to keep the previous settings.

To set up the MaiLinX Email Server, select either automatic (recommended) or manual identification for your SMTP email server.

Use DNS to Identify SMTP Server (Automatic)

To identify the SMTP email server automatically, select the Use DNS to Identify SMTP Server (Automatic) radio button, and enter information for the name servers. This radio button is selected by default.

Enter the Primary and Secondary Name Server IP Addresses or host names in the provided fields. These IPv4 or IPv6 addresses or host names can be 255 characters in length maximum. If DNS is not configured, then only the IP Address can be entered. Contact your network system administrator for the correct address of the DNS Server.

Specify SMTP Server Manually

To specify the SMTP email server manually, select the Specify SMTP Server Manually radio button, and enter the information for the email server in the provided field.

Enter the SMTP Server Name or IP Address to send alert notifications. This IPv4 or IPv6 address or host name can be 255 characters in length maximum. If DNS is not configured, then only the IP Address can be entered. Contact your network system administrator for the correct address of the SMTP server.

Return Email (optional)

If you want undelivered email to be returned, enter an email address in the Return Email Address field. This must be an actual email account for the system administrator. This address can be 79 characters in length maximum.

Authentication

Use Authentication - Select this check box to enable SMTP authentication. The default setting is cleared (unchecked).

User Name - Enter a User Name already registered with the Key Distribution Center (KDC), and which needs to be authenticated for the SMTP service. User Name can be up to 32 alphanumeric characters in length.

Password / Verify Password - Enter a Password already registered with the KDC, and which needs to be authenticated for the SMTP service. Verify the Password by re-entering it. Password can be up to 32 alphanumeric characters in length.

SMTP Service Name - Enter the SMTP Service Name associated with the server and required for the particular authentication method. For Exchange servers, the service name is SMTPSVC. For UNIX/Linux servers, the service name is smtp. Service Name can 10 characters in length maximum. The default setting is SMTPSVC.

Note: User Name, Password, and SMTP Service Name cannot contain the following characters:
