Install Root Certificate Help
This page enables you to install a new root certificate that is needed to validate the authentication server's certificate when using 802.1X EAP authentication methods TLS or PEAP. If a root certificate is not installed, the printer will accept any certificate from any authentication server.
To add the certificate, perform one of the following tasks (do not do both):
- Enter the path to the certificate in the Path to certificate field, or click Browse... to locate the certificate on your computer. Root certificate file contents must be in base-64 encoded (PEM) or binary encoded (DER) format.
OR
- Copy the lines of data in the certificate starting with ---BEGIN CERTIFICATE--- and ending with ---END CERTIFICATE, and paste the information into the Certificate data field.
Friendly Name - Enter a meaningful Friendly Name to identify the certificate. Friendly Name is required, and can be up to 64 alphanumeric characters in length. Friendly Name is only used to identify the certificate during configuration. It is not used by any authentication protocol.
This page is used for 802.1X configuration and certificate management. If you are configuring 802.1X, click Back to return to the previous page, click Next to proceed, or click Cancel to return to the 802.1X Configuration Summary page.
