Create Certificate Signing Request Help
This page enables you to create an X.509 certificate signing request (CSR). Once the CSR is created, you can:
- Save a copy of it as a file on your computer.
- Send it to a trusted certificate authority (CA) for signing.
- Upload the signed device certificate that includes a private key from a CA to the printer – once you get the signed certificate containing the private key back from the CA.
The CSR appears in the list on the Manage Certificates page, where it can be selected for viewing, and saved as either a base-64 encoded (PEM) or a binary encoded (DER) file. The CSR remains in the printer until a device certificate is installed, or you overwrite or delete it.
Notes:
- Deleting the CSR before installing the device certificate created from it will prevent installation of the device certificate.
- All fields on this page are required, and are populated by default with information from the self-signed device certificate.
After you enter information as desired, click Finish to create the CSR, click Back to return to the previous page, or click Cancel to return to the Manage Certificates page.
