The printer's networking software

Networking software: Phaser 360 printer
The printer is shipped with a software CD-ROM and printer diskettes. Both the CD-ROM and the diskettes contain the software that you need to install your printer on a network. The CD-ROM also contains on-line documentation, printer drivers, and other printer software; the diskettes contain printer drivers and some of the other printer software.
You obtain the networking software from the CD-ROM or diskettes by running the installer:
- Locate and run the installer on the printer's CD-ROM or on printer software diskette 1. On a PC, the file is SETUP.EXE; on a Macintosh, it is Phaser 360 Installer.
- When you are prompted to select Easy Install or Custom Install, select Custom Install.
- In the Custom Install dialog box, check the box for Network Utilities.
- If you are running the installer on a computer that has NetWare software installed, you can also check the boxes to install the PhaserShare Administrator and PhaserShare Status Monitor. For more information on the PhaserShare software, see PhaserShare Administrator Software for NetWare Networks.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.
Networking software: Phaser 380, 350, 340, 560, 550, 540, and 600 printers
These printers are shipped with printer diskettes, network utilities diskettes and PhaserShare diskettes. A software CD-ROM is also shipped with these printers.
You obtain the networking software files from the diskettes by copying them from the diskettes, except for the PhaserShare software, which is installed by running an installer. For more information on installing the PhaserShare software, see Installation procedure (Phaser 380, 350, 340, 560, 550, 540, 600 printers). The Phaser 380 and Phaser 560 CD-ROMs also contain the networking software.
The printer's software CD-ROM
Your printer's software CD-ROM contains the following items:
With the Phaser 380 and Phaser 560 printers, you may obtain the network utilities software and PhaserShare software from the CD-ROM instead of the network utilities diskettes if this is easier for you. Refer to your printer's user documentation for more information on installing files from the CD-ROM.
PhaserShare software
Your printer is shipped with PhaserShare diskettes. These diskettes contain the PhaserShare Administrator and the PhaserShare Status Monitor, two Windows applications that assist you in using and managing your Tektronix Color printer over a NetWare network.
