Job Timeout

• The Job Timeout is the amount of processing time any single job may use.
  • In PostScript mode, if the value is exceeded, a timeout error is generated and the job is terminated. Leave this value set to 0 (zero).

• The Wait Timeout is the amount of time in seconds that the printer waits for data to come from the computer during a job. If the data stream pauses for longer than the specified number of seconds, a timeout error is generated and the job is canceled.
  • In HP-GL mode, if the timeout value is too small, an image may be split across two pages; if the value is too large, multiple-page prints may be combined on one page.

• When you are using the Manual Feed, the Manual Feed Timeout is the amount of time the printer waits for you to insert media before canceling the print job. The default is 60 seconds.

• The Media Mismatch Timeout is the amount of time in seconds the printer waits for you to correct a mismatch between the requested media size and the media that is loaded in the printer. After the timeout, the job is printed on the available media; images may be clipped if the image is larger than the loaded media size. The default is 60 seconds.

• The Energy Star Timeout is the amount of time the printer sits idle before going into the Energy Star mode. For details on Energy Star, see Changing the Energy Star mode and timeout.

• The Check Print Timeout is the amount of time the printer waits for you to press a button on the front panel after printing the first page of a print job, before it automatically continues printing the remainder of the job.
