Setting IPX frame types:
Phaser 840
-
When the front panel displays
READY TO PRINT, press the down-arrow button until
Menu
is highlighted. Press
Select.

Press the down-arrow button until
Printer Configuration
is highlighted. Press
Select.
-
Press the down-arrow button until
Network Settings
is highlighted. Press
Select.
-
Press the down-arrow button until
NetWare
is highlighted. Press
Select.
-
Press the down-arrow button until
IPX Frame Type
is highlighted. Press
Select.
-
Press the down-arrow button until the desired frame type is highlighted. Press
Select
until
On
is displayed. If desired, you can set more than one frame type.
-
To return the printer to normal operation, press the down-arrow button until
Exit
is highlighted. Press
Select.

Enter the
Network Settings
menu:

Press
Menu; the front panel displays Help Pages.

Press

until the front panel displays Network Settings.

Press
Menu; the front panel displays TCP/IP.

Access the menu of frame types:

Press
---->
until the front panel displays NetWare.

Press
Menu; the front panel displays Enable Interface.

Press
----> ; the front panel displays IPX Frame Type.

Press
Menu; the front panel displays the first in a menu of frame types.

Enable or disable the frame type:
-
Press
---->
until the frame type you want is displayed.

Press
Menu
to display the current status of the frame type: Enabled or Disabled.

Press
---->
until the frame type is either Enabled or Disabled, as desired.

Press
OK
to enter your choice into the printer. The front panel briefly displays Selected, then returns to the display of the frame type name.

You can set more than one frame type; to set other frame types, repeat Step
3.

Return the printer to normal operation:
-
Press
Exit
(the far left button) until the front panel displays Network Settings.
-
Press
Exit
again.
-
If you have changed any parameters that require a printer reset to take effect, you are prompted to reset the printer. If you press
Reset, the printer resets. If you press
Resume, the front panel displays Network Settings. Press
Exit
(the far left button); the printer returns to normal operation, but the changes you have made do take effect until the next time the printer is reset.

If you have not changed any parameters that require a printer reset to take effect, the front panel displays Ready.

While Ready is displayed, press
Select; the

menu is displayed:

Press the left or right arrow buttons until the front panel displays Network Settings.

to enter the

menu;
Network Settings
appears on the top line of the display.

Access the menu of frame types:

Press the right arrow button until the front panel displays NetWare.

Press
Menu; the front panel displays Interface.

Press the right arrow button until the front panel displays IPX Frame Type.

Press
Menu; the front panel displays the first in a menu of frame types.

Enable or disable the frame type:
-
Press the right arrow button until the frame type you want is displayed.
-
Press
Menu
to display the current status of the frame type: On or Off.
-
Press the right arrow button until the frame type is either On or Off, as desired.

Press
Select
to enter your choice into the printer. The front panel briefly displays Selected, then returns to the display of the frame type name.

Press
Exit
(the far right button) to return to the menu of frame types.

Confirm, the printer resets. To return to normal operation without resetting the printer, press

Printer Menu
appears on the top line of the display. Press
Exit
again; the printer returns to normal operation, but the changes you have made will not take effect until the next time the printer is reset.

If you have not changed any parameters that require a printer reset, press
Exit
again; the front panel displays Ready.
