The printer has several Help Pages that you can print from the front panel to learn more about the printer.
Menu Map
The menu map (see Front panel menu map) provides a graphical view of the front panel menus. The menu map can be used as a convenient navigation aid for quickly determining the location of menu items. An on-line version of the menu map is also available at the Tektronix web site.
Configuration Page
The Configuration Page lists information on the printer's hardware and software configuration and current settings. This page is especially useful during network installation and troubleshooting. You can print the Configuration Page through the front panel, by sending a PostScript utility file to the printer (refer to Using Printer Utilities), or through your web browser (refer to the PhaserShare Networking System Administrator Manual).
Startup Page
The Startup Page lists the number of pages printed, installed interface ports, software version numbers, installed RAM memory, the number of fonts in memory, and other useful information.
Turning off the Startup Page. By default, the Startup Page is printed every time you power up the printer. You can disable the printing of the Startup Page by resetting the default through the printer's front panel menu, by sending a PostScript utility file to the printer, through the Apple Printer Utility on the Macintosh, or through your web browser (refer to the PhaserShare Networking System Administrator Manual).
Note: If the printer detects a nonfatal failure during power up, it
automatically prints a Startup Page containing diagnostic
information regardless of the Startup Page setting in the front
panel menu.
Demonstration Page
This page is a sample color print you can print through the front panel or through your web browser (refer to the PhaserShare Networking System Administrator Manual).
RGB and CMYK Color Samplers
The RGB and CMYK color samplers provide multipage charts containing color samples and their corresponding color values based on the RGB and CMYK color models. Print these charts to help you select colors for use in your documents. Refer to Printing and using the color sampler charts for an example.
Printing the Help Pages
- While the Ready message is displayed, press the Menu button. The printer displays the first item in the menu:
- Help Pages
- <---- ----> Menu
- To access the Help Pages, press the Menu button. The following message appears:
- Menu Map
- <---- ----> Print
- Press the left arrow (<----) or right arrow (---->) buttons until the Help Page you want appears, for example:
- Configuration Page
- <---- ----> Print
- To print the page, press the Print button.
