Note: If you are installing from diskettes, you may need more than one diskette depending on your Windows system. Keep all of the printer's diskettes handy during the installation, and insert each diskette when you are prompted by the installation program. The Tektronix driver is available on both CD-ROM and diskette; the AdobePS 3 driver is available on CD-ROM only.
From the File menu, select Run.
Type in the drive for the CD-ROM or diskette, type SETUP and click OK.
In the Installer, click Next until the Select Installation Type dialog box appears.
Select either Easy Installation or Custom Installation, and click Next. When you finish with the Easy or Custom instructions, continue with Step 6. Easy Installation The following files are copied to your computer's hard disk: Tektronix Printer Driver QuarkXPress PDF Installs an application-specific printer description file, if the application is found. PhaserPrint Plug-in for Photoshop Installs an application-specific plug-in. SamplersInstalls color sampler charts and a fonts sampler. In the Choose Destination Directory dialog box, select the location for installing the PhaserPrint plug-in. Click Next. Files are copied to your computer's hard disk. Custom Installation In the Driver Installation dialog box, select from the following options, then click Next to continue. Drivers/PPDs Installs driver files and printer description files. QuarkXPress PDF Installs an application-specific printer description file. If you selected Drivers/PPDs in the previous window, the Custom Install: Select Drivers dialog box appears. Select one of the following drivers and click Next: Adobe Printer Driver for Windows 3.1 Tektronix Printer Driver for Windows 3.1 Note: The Tektronix Printer Driver for Windows 3.1 must be installed in the Windows directory (default Destination Directory). Do not change the Destination Directory when installing the Tektronix driver unless you are installing the driver on a network and you know the location of the Windows directory on the network drive. In the Custom Install: Select Utilities dialog box, select from the following options, then click Next to continue. Printer UtilitiesInstalls utility files for selecting printer features. Network UtilitiesInstalls utility files for using the printer on a network. SamplersInstalls color sampler charts and a fonts sampler. Use the default Destination Directory or click Browse. Files are copied to your computer's hard disk. The PhaserShare Installation dialog box appears. PhaserShare software consists of two applications for use on Novell NetWare networks: a printer status application for users and a printer administration application for system administrators. Make selections from the following options, then click Next to continue: Both PhaserShare Status Monitor and Administrator PhaserShare Status Monitor PhaserShare Administrator Do Not Install PhaserShare Select PhaserShare installation type, then click Next to continue: Standard Install (automatically installs the choice you made in the previous dialog box) Network Install (copies PhaserShare installation files to a network server) If you selected the PhaserShare Network Install option, click Browse to select the drive for installing the installation files. Click Next to continue. Click OK in the installation successful dialog box. Files are copied to your computer's hard disk or a selected network destination. Note: To use the PhaserShare software installer you copied to a network server, go to the location of the copied files, and run SETUP.EXE. Follow the installation prompts to install PhaserShare software on local NetWare-enabled workstations.
QuarkXPress PDF Installs an application-specific printer description file, if the application is found.
PhaserPrint Plug-in for Photoshop Installs an application-specific plug-in.
SamplersInstalls color sampler charts and a fonts sampler.
Click Next. Files are copied to your computer's hard disk.

Tektronix Printer Driver for Windows 3.1
Note: The Tektronix Printer Driver for Windows 3.1 must be installed in the Windows directory (default Destination Directory). Do not change the Destination Directory when installing the Tektronix driver unless you are installing the driver on a network and you know the location of the Windows directory on the network drive.
In the Custom Install: Select Utilities dialog box, select from the following options, then click Next to continue.
Network UtilitiesInstalls utility files for using the printer on a network.
Use the default Destination Directory or click Browse.
The PhaserShare Installation dialog box appears. PhaserShare software consists of two applications for use on Novell NetWare networks: a printer status application for users and a printer administration application for system administrators. Make selections from the following options, then click Next to continue:
PhaserShare Status Monitor
PhaserShare Administrator
Do Not Install PhaserShare
Network Install (copies PhaserShare installation files to a network server)
Files are copied to your computer's hard disk or a selected network destination.
Note: To use the PhaserShare software installer you copied to a network server, go to the location of the copied files, and run SETUP.EXE. Follow the installation prompts to install PhaserShare software on local NetWare-enabled workstations.
If you are installing the Tektronix driver, select your Tektronix Phaser 360 printer and click Next.
The Finish Installation dialog box contains instructions for completing the printer software setup; click Next.
In the Installation Completed dialog box, click Finish.
Continue with the setup instructions depending on the driver you selected in the installer: Tektronix Driver for Windows 3.1: Setup instructions If you selected Easy Installation, or if you selected the Tektronix Driver for Windows 3.1 in the Custom Installation, continue with the following instructions: Open the Windows Control Panel. Open the Printers dialog box. Under Installed Printers, select your Phaser 360 (TekColor) printer, click Connect. Select the printer's port, and click OK. AdobePS 3 Driver for Windows 3.1: Setup instructions If you selected the AdobePS 3 Driver for Windows 3.1 in the Custom Installation, continue with the following instructions: In the Adobe installer, click Read or Skip in the README.WRI dialog box to start the installation. Click Continue in the PostScript Printer Driver Setup dialog box. Files are copied to your computer. Click the Restart Windows button in the dialog box that appears. After Windows restarts, the Install PostScript Printer from PPD dialog box opens. Select your Tektronix Phaser 360 printer in the list and click Install. Click OK in the next dialog box. Click Close in the Install PostScript Printer from PPD dialog box. Click OK in the information dialog box. In the Control Panel, double-click Printers. In the Printers dialog box, select the printer you just installed, and click Connect. In the Connect dialog box, select the port the printer is connected to, and click OK.
Open the Printers dialog box.
Under Installed Printers, select your Phaser 360 (TekColor) printer, click Connect.
Select the printer's port, and click OK.
Click Continue in the PostScript Printer Driver Setup dialog box. Files are copied to your computer.
Click the Restart Windows button in the dialog box that appears.
After Windows restarts, the Install PostScript Printer from PPD dialog box opens. Select your Tektronix Phaser 360 printer in the list and click Install.
Click OK in the next dialog box.
Click Close in the Install PostScript Printer from PPD dialog box.
Click OK in the information dialog box.
In the Control Panel, double-click Printers.
In the Printers dialog box, select the printer you just installed, and click Connect.
In the Connect dialog box, select the port the printer is connected to, and click OK.
