Turn on the printer.
Note: To ensure optimum printing performance and best ink economy, always leave the printer turned on. The printer automatically switches into a standby mode during periods of infrequent use to reduce power consumption.
Front panel display and controls When the printer is turned on, the front panel display is lighted. Watch the front panel display for instructions as you finish the set-up procedure. Status messages, such as Warming Up or Ready, appear on the top line of the display. Other messages, such as Info, Clean, and Menu appear on the lower line of the display; these identify a function for the corresponding button located below the message. For example, pressing the button located under the word Menu displays the printer's menus.
See also Front panel error messages.
System administrators may choose to modify or limit access to front panel menus. See Using Printer Utilities.
