Some applications use PostScript printer description files (PPDs) to get information about a printer. See Installing the printer's software for instructions on installing the printer's software.
Pantone
If you are using an application that produces PANTONE Colors, refer to the Phaser 350 On-line Reference Guide for more information on color library files available for specific applications.
Macintosh applications
QuarkXPress
To use the printer with QuarkXPress, use the installer application on the printer's CD-ROM or diskettes to install the Phaser 350.PDF printer description file. The file is installed automatically with Easy Install. Refer to Installing the printer's software for instructions on installing the printer's software. Once the file is installed, the printer's name appears alphabetically in the list of installed printers in the QuarkXPress custom Page Setup dialog box.
Adobe Photoshop
The PhaserPrint software plug-in operates within the Photoshop application to improve the image data transfer time from your Macintosh to your printer. Use the installer application on the printer's CD-ROM or diskettes to install the PhaserPrint software plug-in. The file is installed automatically with Easy Install. Refer to Installing the printer's software for instructions on installing the printer's software. Once the file is installed, select PhaserPrint from the Export pop-up menu in the File menu, and make printing selections. Refer to the Phaser 350 On-line Reference Guide for details on using the PhaserPrint software plug-in.
Pantone

Other applications
To use the printer with Aldus PageMaker or FreeHand, and other applications, use the installer application on the printer's CD-ROM or diskettes to install the PPD printer description files. Once the files are installed, you can use them to set up a PPD-driven printer driver, such as the Adobe PSPrinter or Apple LaserWriter 8.x, for your printer. Refer to Installing the printer's software for installation instructions.
