Scan Defaults Help

Use this page to configure the Scan Defaults.

To configure the Scan Defaults, select the following options:

File Format - Set the file type of the scanned image.

Output Color - Set the color mode to Color or Black and White.

Resolution - Set the scan resolution.

Original Size - Specify the size of the original document.

2 Sided Scanning - Specify the 2-sided copy options.

Rotate Side 2 - Rotate the image on side 2 by 180 degrees.

Lighten/Darken - Lighten or darken the scanned image.

Sharpness - Specify the sharpness of the scanned image.

Contrast - Specify the contrast of the scanned image.

Auto Background Suppression - Turn Auto Background Suppression on and off when scanning. Auto Background Suppression reduces the sensitivity of the printer to variations in light background colors.

Auto Background Suppression Level - Adjust the level of the auto background suppression functionality.

Edge Erase Top/Bottom - Erase unwanted images from the top and bottom of the page.

Edge Erase Left/Right - Erase unwanted images from the left and right of the page.

Edge Erase Middle - Erase unwanted images from the middle of the page.

TIFF File Format - Set the TIFF file format: TIFF V6 or TTN2.

Quality/File Size - Specify the amount of image compression: Lower, Normal, or Higher.

Max E-Mail Size - Set limits on the size of attachments that can be emailed, from 50 through 16384 KB.

When you are satisfied with your selections, click Save Changes to keep the settings or Discard Changes to keep the previous settings.
