Setting up your printer on a TCP/IP network

This is the procedure for installing your Xerox color printer on a TCP/IP network using a UNIX workstation. Click the links below to obtain detailed instructions on each step. After completing each step, use your browser's back button to return to this page.
  1. If you are using a network card, the card must be installed in the printer. If the card is not yet installed in the printer, install it now. If you are using the printer's built-in network interface, skip this step.
  2. Connect the printer to the network (click the type of interface you are using):
  3. Print a configuration page.
  4. Set the printer's IP addressing parameters:

  6. Note: The next two steps contain links to general information about host configuration, for host-specific instructions, see the examples that follow them.
  7. Add the printer to the host table.
  8. Assign a print queue to the printer. Be sure to observe the required remote printer queue names.

  9. Note: Special instructions for assigning print queues apply if you are using PhaserPrint for UNIX.
