Phaser 300X

Selecting color corrections
Color corrections can be selected in the following ways:

Note:A color correction setting made in a supported driver overrides the printer's setting for prints made from the driver. However, the driver's Use Printer Setting option allows you to use the current rear panel switch selection or downloaded utility file.

Selecting color corrections with downloadable utility files

When you download a color correction utility file to the printer, Switches 8 and 9 on the printer's rear panel must both be in the up position for the color correction option to take effect. For example, before you download the Simulate Display (DISPLAY.PS) file to the printer, make sure Switches 8 and 9 are both up. Both switches must remain in the up position for the downloaded color correction to be available. If either switch's position is changed, the default color correction changes, although the default is restored when you put both switches back in the up position again. Refer to the topic "Selecting color corrections with a printer switch" for more information.

Utility file features

Selecting color corrections with a printer switch

You can use the printer's rear panel switches in different ways to set default color corrections. A change to a switch setting takes effect immediately at the start of the next job (not during a job); there is no need to reset the printer.

Note:If you use these switches, refer to "Driver, utility files, and switch interactions" for details on how these switches interact with the driver's color correction settings.
Use the printer's rear panel DIP Switches 8 and 9 to make the selections outlined in the following table:

To select this color correction:

Place the printer's rear panel switches in these positions:

Turn off all color corrections Switch 8 down and
Switch 9 down
Use Vivid Color (print a truer blue) Switch 8 up and
Switch 9 down
More closely match printing press colors
(SWOP Press)
Switch 9 up and
Switch 8 down
Use any color correction utility file that has been downloaded to the printer (Euroscale Press is the factory default selection if no utility file has ever been downloaded to the printer.) Switch 8 up and
Switch 9 up

Using the switches with a utility file

Place both Switches 8 and 9 in the up position then send a utility file to the printer to set a user-defined color correction. Refer to the above table for a list of available corrections.
