Using PANTONE Color files

Use the following PANTONE files with specific applications.

The PANTONE Color files are available on the printer's CD-ROM and on the Printer Software for Macintosh diskette.
- See "Installing the printer's software" to install the printer's software. Select Easy Install to automatically load all of the necessary software, or select a printer driver, such as the Adobe PSPrinter driver, and the Pantone Files item in the Custom Install window on the printer's CD-ROM.
- Locate the files in the Pantone Files folder inside the PhaserTools folder created on your hard disk by the installer application.
Using the PANTONE Color templates
Adobe Illustrator 3.0
The PANTONE®Phaser 300X.ai file is used by the application to properly specify PANTONE Colors for the Phaser 300X printer.
- See "Installing the Pantone files" if you haven't already installed the files.
- Locate the PANTONE® Phaser 300X.ai file in the Pantone Files folder, inside the PhaserTools folder on your hard disk.
- Drag the PANTONE® Phaser 300X.ai file to the Illustrator application folder on your hard disk.
- Use this file as a template to create documents for printing.
Adobe Illustrator 5.0
The PANTONE® Phaser 300X.ai file is used by the application to properly specify PANTONE Colors for the Phaser 300X printer.
- See "Installing the Pantone files" if you haven't already installed the files.
- Locate the PANTONE® Phaser 300X.ai file in the Pantone Files folder, inside the PhaserTools folder on your hard disk.
- Drag the PANTONE® Phaser 300X.ai file to the Illustrator application folder on your hard disk.
- Choose Import Styles from the File menu in Illustrator and import the PANTONE® Phaser 300X.ai file.
Aldus FreeHand 4.0
The PANTONE® Phaser 300X.acf file is used by the application to properly specify PANTONE Colors for the Phaser 300X printer.
- See "Installing the Pantone files" if you haven't already installed the files.
- Locate the PANTONE® Phaser 300X.acf file in the Pantone Files folder, inside the PhaserTools folder on your hard disk.
- Place the PANTONE® Phaser 300X.acf file in the Color folder in the Aldus folder, inside the System Folder.
- Start FreeHand.
- From the Colorlist window, choose Options, Import and select PANTONE® Phaser 300X.acf.
Aldus PageMaker 5.0
The PANTONE® Phaser 300X.acf file is used by the application to properly specify PANTONE Colors for the Phaser 300X printer.
- See "Installing the Pantone files" if you haven't already installed the files.
- Locate the PANTONE® Phaser 300X.acf file in the Pantone Files folder, inside the PhaserTools folder on your hard disk.
- Place the PANTONE® Phaser 300X.acf file in the Color folder in the Aldus folder, inside the System Folder.
- Start PageMaker.
- Choose Element, Define Colors, New, Libraries, then select PANTONE® Phaser 300X.acf.
Adobe PageMaker 6.0
The PANTONE® Phaser 300X.acf file is used by the application to properly specify PANTONE Colors for the Phaser 300X printer.
- See "Installing the Pantone files" if you haven't already installed the files.
- Locate the PANTONE® Phaser 300X.acf file in the Pantone Files folder inside the PhaserTools folder on your hard disk.
- Place the PANTONE® Phaser 300X.acf file in the Color folder in the RSRC folder inside the Adobe PageMaker 6.0 folder.
- Start PageMaker.
- Choose Element, Define Colors, New, Libraries, then select PANTONE® Phaser 300X.acf.
