EtherTalk Enabled (Phaser 840, 740, 780, and 360)

This field allows you to enable and disable the protocol.
|
Printer Name
|
This field reports the printer's EtherTalk name.
|
Printer Type
|
This field allows you to change the printer's EtherTalk type (LaserWriter).
|
Zone
|
This field allows you to change the printer's EtherTalk zone. The EtherTalk zone must be 32 characters or less. Null characters cannot be used. The zone entered must be a zone that the printer is on.
|
Network.
Node
|
This field reports the node ID established by the EtherTalk protocol.
|
Language
|
Select the language you want the printer to receive on the EtherTalk port; the choices are listed here (not all printers support all languages):

If you select
AutoSelect, the printer automatically senses the language of the print job and processes it accordingly; this is called automatic language selection. Refer to your printer's user manual for more information about automatic language selection and which languages the printer supports.

Filtering

This field allows you to choose whether the printer strips out control characters. The choices are

None. In most cases,

Delayed Output Close*
|
When you choose
True
(
On
), the printer does not begin a new job on this port until the current job is completed. When you choose
False
(
Off
), the printer can begin processing a new job while it is still printing a previous job.
For Phaser 380, 350, 340, 560, 550, 600 printers: If

), job accounting is disabled for the EtherTalk protocol.
