Appsocket Enabled (Phaser 360 printer)
Port Enabled (Phaser 380, 350, 340, 560, 550, 600 printers)
|
This field allows you to enable and disable the protocol.
|
Language
|
Select the language you want the printer to receive on the AppSocket port; the choices are listed here (not all printers support all languages):
-
AutoSelect
-
HP-GL
-
PCL (or PCL-5)
-
PostScript
If you select AutoSelect, the printer automatically senses the language of the print job and processes it accordingly; this is called automatic language selection. Refer to your printer's user manual for more information about automatic language selection and which languages the printer supports.
|
Host Access List
|
This field allows you to give access to the selected printer only to certain hosts. No entry indicates that all hosts have access to the selected printer. To give a host exclusive access to the printer, enter the host's IP address in the field.
-
With the Phaser 840, 740 and 780 printers, you can enter IP host names or IP addresses, up to a maximum of 255 characters.
-
With the Phaser 360 printer, you can enter up to 10 valid IP addresses by separating the addresses with a single space.
-
With the Phaser 380, 560, 600 printers, you can enter up to six addresses.
|
Receive Window Size*
|
This field allows you to change the default AppSocket Receive Window Size. The value entered must either be 0 or a number between 1024 and 59392. If 0 is entered, the printer uses the window size desired by the print host. If a number between 1024 and 59392 is entered, the window size depends on a negotiation between the printer and the host computer.
|
Send Window Size*
|
This field allows you to change the default AppSocket Send Window Size. The value entered must either be 0 or a number between 1024 and 59392. If 0 is entered, the printer uses the window size desired by the print host. If a number between 1024 and 59392 is entered, the window size depends on a negotiation between the printer and the host computer.
|
Filtering
|
This field allows you to choose whether the printer strips out control characters. The choices are InterpreterBased or None. In most cases, Filtering should be set to None.
|
Delayed Output Close*
|
When you choose
True
(
On
), the printer does not begin a new job on this port until the current job is completed. When you choose
False
(
Off
), the printer can begin processing a new job while it is still printing a previous job.
For Phaser 380, 350, 340, 560, 550, 600 printers: If
Delayed Output Close
is
False
(
Off
), job accounting is disabled for the AppSocket protocol.

* If these fields are not displayed, they are not supported by the printer.
