Removing and Preventing Media Jams

The front panel message indicates the jam location and information on how to clear the jam. The front panel jam messages are as follows:

Media Jam -- Open exit cover to clear (solution 1)

Media Jam -- Open exit cover to clear (solution 2)

Media Jam -- Open front cover to clear

Media Jam -- Retry manual feed

Media Jam -- Remove media (or upper) tray to clear

Media Jam -- Remove middle (or lower) tray to clear


To prevent jams, use the recommended media (see All About Media ) and occasionally clean the printer's rollers.
