Adding ink

You do not have to wait for the printer to run out of ink before adding ink. Prevent printing interruptions by periodically checking the ink supply and adding ink sticks as necessary. The front panel displays Ink Low when the level for one or more colors drops to one-half stick. When the printer is completely out of ink, it displays an Out of Ink message.

Open the top cover. Note the color-coded label and the different shapes of the slots of the ink-loading bin. Each ink stick color has a unique shape.
Drop the ink stick(s) of the correct color and shape, with the narrow (tapered) edge down, into the low or empty ink-loading bin. You can load up to three ink sticks in each bin.
Close the top cover.

Caution: Do not force ink sticks into the ink-loading bin. If an ink stick does not load easily, make sure that the color and shape of the ink stick correspond to the correct loading bin color and shape.

Ink consumption. Ink consumption is primarily dependent on the ink coverage per print. Always keep a supply of ink sticks available to prevent printing interruptions.

Ink handling tips

To ensure optimum print quality and best performance, leave the printer turned on overnight and during weekends. Leaving the printer on reduces the number of cleaning cycles, which consume ink.
Keep ink sticks clean by storing them in their original containers until you are ready to use them.
The ColorStix ink sticks will break if dropped; handle them with care.

Caution: Use only Phaser 360 printer ColorStix ink sticks. The Phaser 360 printer cannot use solid ink intended for other printers, such as the Phaser 380 printer.
Do not load used ink into the printer; reusing waste ink ruins the printhead. Your warranty will not cover repair of damages caused by the reuse of waste ink.
Discard broken ink sticks. Loading broken pieces of ink sticks can cause the ink-loading system to jam.
