Features of your new printer
Image quality and speed
  • Fast Color. Quick color prints on paper at 6 pages per minute (ppm) and transparencies at 5.5 ppm.

  • Standard. 300 x 300 dots per inch (dpi) for normal printing on paper at 4 ppm. Recommended for overhead transparencies ­ produces vibrant, saturated prints at 2 ppm.

  • Enhanced. 800 x 450 dpi for the best text and image quality on paper (2 ppm). Use for transparencies (at 600 x 300 dpi) with very fine detail.

  • Includes 10BaseT Ethernet connection (supports NetWare, EtherTalk, TCP/IP, Telnet, FTP, and HTTP). Optional network interfaces available.

Color matching:

TekColor Dynamic Color Correction

The printer's Automatic mode optimizes color quality for text, graphics, and scanned images on each page. Other color corrections let you adjust the color for special needs:

  • Enhance the brightness of transparencies (Vivid Color).

  • Simulate the colors on the computer screen (Simulate Display).

  • Match printing press standards (various selections available).

Printer control through your web browser

With the printer's built-in PhaserLink software, you can use your web browser for a variety of tasks, including the following:

  • Avoid down time by automatically receiving email when ink is low, paper needs loading, or other maintenance is required.

  • View the status of print jobs.

  • Get data on printer usage.

  • Configure the printer.

  • Create a local link to your own web site help pages.

Options and accessories

  • Lower Paper Tray Assembly. Adds 625-sheet paper capacity for convenience and versatility. Use with the upper transparency tray to avoid having to reload media or switch media trays.

  • Transparency tray. Recommended for transparency printing - 175-sheet capacity. Use with Tektronix transparencies for best transparency printing.

  • PhaserShare® network cards. 100BaseTx Ethernet, Token Ring, and LocalTalk network interfaces are available.

  • Memory upgrade. Upgrade to 48 MBytes for even faster image processing and throughput.

  • External hard drive. For collation and additional font storage. Mounts conveniently on the back of the printer.
