Multi-Purpose Tray

To load A size paper:

1. Slide open the paper guide.

2. Load the long edge of the paper toward the printer.

3. Reposition the paper guide to the back edge of the paper.

To load B-size paper:

1. Move the paper guide out, then extend the tray extension to support the longer paper.

2. Load the paper with the short side into the feeder.

3. Reposition the paper guide to the back edge of the paper.

To load transparencies:

1. Slide open the back paper guide.

2. Load the long edge of the transparencies into the feeder with the notch at the right, back side.

To load B-size transparencies:

1. Slide open the back paper guide.

2. Load the short edge of the transparencies into the feeder, again, with the notch at the right, back side.

To load envelopes from the multi-purpose tray:

1. Place the envelope in the multi-purpose tray with the bottom entering the printer first, face up, and the flap open.

2. Reposition the paper guide to the back edge of the envelope.

To load letterhead paper from the multi-purpose tray, insert the letterhead face up with the top toward the rear of the printer.

Universal Trays and Lower Tray Assembly

The universal trays can be loaded with up to 250 sheets of a wide range of paper sizes.

If you have the optional Lower Tray Assembly, it came with a transparency/label tray. Use this tray only in the top slot, or the slot in the printer. It holds up to 100 sheets of A- or letter-size Xerox transparencies, or A-size label sheets.

To load transparencies:

1. Slide the media guides back.

2. Press the metal plate down.

3. Fan the transparencies to loosen them.

4. Load transparencies in the tray with the notch toward the back left side of the tray. Make sure the long side of the media is under the hook.

5. Readjust the media guides, then close the tray.

To load the standard tray with B-size media:

1. Slide the paper guides back.

2. Press the metal plate down.

3. Fan the paper, then insert the short edge under the hook on the right side of the tray.

4. Readjust the paper guides, then close the tray.

To load the standard tray with A-size paper:

• Make sure that the short edge is toward the back of the tray.

• Load letterhead paper face down, with the top away from you, toward the back of the tray.
