Install or Reseat the Toner Cartridge

The toner cartridge for a color (cyan, magenta, yellow, or black) is missing or is installed incorrectly. Install or reseat the toner cartridge for the color specified on the control panel.

To install or reseat a toner cartridge:

  1. Use the latch on the front of the printer to open the top cover.

  2. If the toner cartridge for that color is present, move the locking lever to the left to unlock the cartridge, and reseat it.

  3. If it is not present, install the toner cartridge for that color.

  4. Move the lever to the right to lock the cartridge into the imaging unit.

  5. Slowly close the top cover.

  6. If the problem persists, install a new toner cartridge. See the installation instructions shipped with the new toner cartridge. To order a toner cartridge, contact your local reseller or go to the Phaser® 7400 Supplies and Accessories website.
