If the printer has jams with the Duplex Unit, cleaning should help.

  1. Remove the Duplex Unit from the Lower Tray Assembly.
  2. Pinch the two blue tabs to open the top cover.
  3. Remove any jammed media inside the Duplex Unit. Never load media in the Duplex Unit.
  4. Using a lint free cloth moistened with 90% pure isopropyl alcohol, thoroughly scrub the two feed rollers. Be sure to rotate the rollers to clean their entire surface.
  5. Close the top cover by pressing down firmly, making sure that both sides lock.
  6. Replace the Duplex Unit in the Lower Tray Assembly.
  7. If the printer still reports an error, open, then close the front door to reset the printer.

HINTS

  • You can print the instructions for cleaning the Duplex Unit from the printer's front panel.
  • Use isopropyl alcohol that is at least 90% pure and a lint-free cloth.
