If your printer has frequent media jams, clean the paper-pick and paper-feed rollers. Cleaning of the paper feed rollers is covered in another procedure.

1. To clean the paper pick rollers, first remove all the media trays.
2. Remove the paper from one of the paper trays. Install the cleaning tray centered under the paper tray's metal hooks.
3. Wet the cleaning tray's foam pad with 90% pure isopropyl alcohol.
4. Insert the tray into the upper-most tray slot.
5. Press Menu once and scroll to the Cleaning menu. Press Menu again. You can print the cleaning instruction if you so choose or scroll to Select Tray and press Menu. Press Clean.
6. The printer displays Selected while rotating the pick rollers several times to clean them.
7. When cleaning is complete, remove the tray and re-insert it in the middle tray slot. Scroll to Middle and press Clean.
8. Repeat this procedure for the lower tray slot.
9. Remove the cleaning tray, replace the media and replace the media trays.

HINTS

• Use isopropyl alcohol that is at least 90% pure.
• You can print the instructions for cleaning the Pick Rollers from the printer's front panel.
• When inserting the cleaning tray into the paper tray, do not press down on the tray's metal plate; it needs to be in the up (unlocked) position. If it is locked, release the lock by pushing on the white plastic lock tab in the bottom of the tray.
