This page is used to set your printer's PhaserLink software password. When set, this password is required to change printer or network parameters or to access job accounting information via the printer's pages.
NOTE
This password is for PhaserLink software only; it is not related to the PostScript job password.
The factory default password is a blank field (no password needed to change parameters). It is recommended that you set a password to prevent unauthorized changing of the settings you have made. However, be sure to remember the password or record it in a safe place; recovering from a forgotten password can be inconvenient.
The maximum length for a password is ten characters; passwords are case-sensitive.
NOTE
PhaserLink passwords are not encrypted.
Setting a password

From the printer's home page, click
Configuration; this displays the
View and Configure Settings
page.

From the
View and Configure Settings
page, click
Set Administrator Password
to display the
Set Administrator Password
page.

Enter the new password in the
New Password
field and in the
Retype New Password
field.

Enter the old password in the
Validation Password
field. If you are setting the password for the first time, leave the
Validation Password
field blank.

Click
Do/Apply.
