TCP/IP Enabled

This field allows you to enable and disable the protocol.

Host Name

Enter the host name, up to 15 characters.

IP Address

This is the printer's address on the network. The format is x.x.x.x, where x represents a decimal number from 0 - 255. The value entered must be a valid IP address and not 0.0.0.0, 255.255.255.255, or any address ending with 255.

The value in this field is overwritten when RARP or BOOTP/DHCP is enabled and a RARP or BOOTP/DHCP server assigns a value.

Network Mask

This is needed in networks that use sub-netting. If you are not using sub-netting, leave this blank; the printer will choose an appropriate mask. The format is x.x.x.x, where x represents a decimal number from 0 - 255.

The value in this field is overwritten when RARP or BOOTP/DHCP is enabled and a RARP or BOOTP/DHCP server assigns a value.

Router/gateway

Gateway addresses are used to communicate with devices not on the same network segment. Enter the gateway host IP address. The gateway host address is the address of a host that is used to retransmit the packets from the current network segment to another network segment. The format for each address is x.x.x.x, where x represents a decimal number from 0 - 255.

The value in this field is overwritten when RARP or BOOTP/DHCP is enabled and a RARP or BOOTP/DHCP server assigns a value.

BOOTP/DHCP

True. The printer issues BOOTP and DHCP requests when reset.

False. The printer does not issue BOOTP and DHCP requests when reset.

DHCP Server Address

This field reports the IP address of the DHCP server.

DHCP Lease Expiration

This field reports the date and time in this format:

DAY MMM DD HH:MM:SS YEAR UTC

For example:

MON MAR 17 00:08:00 1997 UTC

DHCP Lease Renewal

This field reports the date and time in this format:

DAY MMM DD HH:MM:SS YEAR UTC

For example:

MON MAR 17 00:08:00 1997 UTC

Domain Name Services Resolver Enabled (Phaser 840, 740 and 780 only)

This field allows you to enable and disable DNS.

Primary Name Server IP Address (Phaser 840, 740 and 780 only)

Enter the IP address for the primary name server. A value of all zeros indicates that no server is configured. If both primary and second name servers are undefined, no lookup occurs. Required for DNS configuration.

The value in this field is overridden by BOOTP/DHCP configuration.

Second Name Server IP Address (Phaser 840, 740 and 780 only)

Enter the IP address for the second name server. A value of all zeros indicates that no server is configured. If both primary and second name servers are undefined, no lookup occurs. Optional for DNS configuration.

The value in this field is overridden by BOOTP/DHCP configuration.

IP Domain Name (Phaser 840, 740 and 780 only)

Enter the IP domain name. The maximum length for this value is 256 characters. Required for DNS configuration.

The value in this field is overridden by BOOTP/DHCP configuration.

Additional Search Domain Name 1 (Phaser 840, 740 and 780 only)

Enter an additional domain name to be appended to the host name lookup request when the original lookup has failed. The maximum length for this value is 256 characters. Optional for DNS configuration.

Additional Search Domain Name 2 (Phaser 840, 740 and 780 only)

Enter an additional domain name to be appended to the host name lookup request when the original lookup has failed. The maximum length for this value is 256 characters. Optional for DNS configuration.

Additional Search Domain Name 3 (Phaser 840, 740 and 780 only)

Enter an additional domain name to be appended to the host name lookup request when the original lookup has failed. The maximum length for this value is 256 characters. Optional for DNS configuration.
