Front panel message: Clear Internal Jam

When the printer's front panel reports the Clear Internal Jam message, press the Info button to display additional information about the message. A jam can be caused by media or ink sticks, keeping the printhead from moving properly. See the instructions below for information on clearing a jam in a specific location. Also, see the printer's user manual for details on clearing media jams.

- Open the printer's top cover.
- Check the rear of the printer for paper or ink sticks that may have jammed the printhead.
- Move the printhead from one side of the printer to the other to make sure it moves freely.
- Close the printer's top cover.
- Turn the printer off then back on.
- If the problem persists, contact Xerox Service.

- Open the printer's exit door.
- Check the exit door's paper path for jammed paper.
- Open the printer's top cover.
- Check for paper anywhere in the printer's paper path.
- Close the printer's top cover and the exit door.
- Turn the printer off then back on.
- If the problem persists, contact Xerox Service.

- Open the printer's top cover.
- Check for paper anywhere in the printer's paper path.
- Rotate the drum. Clear anything that is impeding the drum's rotation.
- Close the top cover.
- Turn the printer off then back on.
- If the problem persists, contact Xerox Service.

- Open the printer's top cover.
- Check for paper anywhere in the printer's paper path.
- Reload the media. Make sure the media is square on each edge, and does not skew as it is loaded into the printer. The right edge of the media should be lined up with the alignment marker on the right side of the printer. Use a new sheet of cut-sheet of media. If only roll media is available, re-trim the edge of the media to make sure it is square.
- Try printing again.
- If the problem persists, open the printer's top cover.
- Clean the drum with isopropyl alcohol (refer to the printer's user manual for complete cleaning instructions).
- Close the top cover.
- Try printing again.
- If the problem persists, turn the printer off then back on.
- If the problem persists, contact Xerox Service.
